Treatment Approaches
Patients at Balance in Motion are treated with a combination of approaches including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, body mechanics and patient education.
Manual Therapy
is hands-on treatment designed to relieve pain and promote normal function or movement. Techniques we use include joint mobilization, soft-tissue mobilization, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Craniosacral and Strain Counterstrain.
Therapeutic Exercise
addresses muscle imbalances of flexibility, strength and motor control. We use a variety of cues to educate patients in correct muscle recruitment. We emphasize balance training to improve performance and confidence in everyday activities.
Body Mechanics
assessment and education help patients to identify habits and environmental factors that may be contributing to muscle imbalance, poor posture and pain. We offer ergonomic evaluations for the home or small office.
